Presidents note, 2019 presentation –
There is something so inspirational about being in a room full of women and girls who all share the same passion and vision….
Surfing is to everyone here is not just the ocean, the beach, riding waves, but it means something a little different to each and every one of us …..it can be about community, a sense of belonging, connection, with ourselves and others, it is Authenticity, the ocean is a place where you get to be your true authentic self, it can be about movement, motivation to get out of bed in the morning, it can be about competition, to strive to be the best you can or it can simply be about fun and laughter, spending time with good friends, it can be about just getting you through the day, being good for your mental health, we always feel better after getting out of the ocean ….. it is nature at its most raw and beautiful, it is inspiration, just look around this room, stop and listen to the different stories of the people present today, you will find inspiration everywhere…….
Whatever surfing means for you, this is a day to honor and celebrate it, to share the stoke and to come together, to say thank you for another year of being part of this awesome club, of friendships, fun and learning.
I am grateful to have spent another year with you all and want to thank each and everyone of you for your love and support and laughter throughout another amazing year.
