We kicked off our All Girls Surfriders club rounds for 2018 on Sunday 25th of February.
It was great to see such an amazing turn out for our 27th year of our club, we have had a substantial rise in numbers this year with noticeable increases in our Senior Beginner, Junior Beginner and Junior Intermediate divisions. We are also running a social division this year called Soul Surfers, this division swaps boards each club round, giving the surfers the opportunity to have some fun surfing different equipment.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new members and of course we love seeing our past members returning for another year of fun and surfing. Welcome to our 2018 committee members and thank you for volunteering your time to keep this awesome club running, please contact us if any of our new members would like to be involved on our committee, we are always looking for new people to be part of this awesome team.
With despicable conditions leading up to Sunday we somehow were blessed with lighter winds on the contest day, the surf was 2 ft and messy and we had an outgoing tide but there were perfect little whitewater waves for our beginner divisions. Our open division struggled a little with the conditions and only their heats were run.
Really great to see everyone surfing confidently, judging and supporting one another throughout the day, we look forward to our March contest which will be held on Sunday 25th.
