WaveMakers Scholarship

The All Girls Surfriders club is proud to announce the launch of our WaveMakers Surfing Scholarship, aimed at supporting talented female surfers in their pursuit of advanced and elite surfing. The scholarship will award up to $500 per applicant to assist with expenses related to training, competitions, equipment, and other surfing-related activities.

To be eligible for the WaveMakers Scholarship, applicants must be a financial member of All Girls Surfriders Club and meet the following criteria:

• Female Surfer: Applicants must identify as female and demonstrate a passion for surfing.
• Membership: Applicants must be current members of the All Girls Surfriders club in the calendar year that they are applying.
• Age: Open to surfers of any age 
• Skill Level: Applicants should showcase a commitment to advancing their surfing skills and achieving excellence in the sport.
• Commitment: Applicants must demonstrate a clear plan for utilizing the scholarship funds to further their surfing goals, whether through training programs, competition fees, equipment upgrades, or other relevant expenses.

To apply for the All Girls Surfriders WaveMakers Scholarship, interested candidates must complete the following steps:

1. Application Form (below): Fill out the online scholarship application form, which can be obtained from the All Girls Surfriders club website or by contacting the club directly.
   1. Personal Statement: Write a brief personal statement (maximum 500 words) outlining your surfing journey, your goals in the sport, and why you believe you should be awarded the scholarship. Please include any relevant achievements, challenges you have overcome, and future aspirations.
   2. Achievements in current year: Please tell us your most recent achievements and how the scholarship will help you pursue surfing at an elite or advanced level in the coming calendar year.

Note: We encourage you to answer the questions in a word document first, so you can save this and then input into the Application Form when you are ready to submit.

Deadline: Applications open each calendar year and there is no deadline for submission. There is a  maximum of two applications awarded annually so it is encouraged to apply early to not miss out.

The All Girls Surfriders committee will review applications based on the eligibility criteria outlined above. Scholarship recipients will be notified via email or phone and announced on the All Girls Surfriders club website and social media.

In the event that two surfers don’t meet the criteria listed above, the scholarship will be forfeited for that calendar year.

The All Girls Surfriders committee has the final say on the WaveMakers scholarship recipients and reserves the right to not award scholarships in that calendar year if no current member meets the listed criteria.
